RLink Standard

RLink Standard provides unlimited programming of a full range of microcontrollers from 8-bit to 32-bit families and real-time debugging of applications while they run on the target device.

The RLink includes the RKit-ARM Lite and RKit-STM8 Basic software tool sets which include device support, C tool chain and enable debugging and programming features of Ride7 and RFlasher.

RLink connects to microcontrollers mounted on an application or evaluation board via a range of communication protocols including:

  • 20-pin JTAG for ARM® core-based devices
  • SWD connection for ARM Cortex-M3 devices
  • STMicroelectronics' SWIM
  • STMicroelectronics' In-Circuit Communication

It offers unlimited programming of all supported 8-bit and 32-bit devices while driven by either the free RFlasher7 programming software or the Ride7 integrated development environment.

The RLink Standard provides unlimited debugging of applications on supported 8-bit devices while driven from the Ride7 integrated development environment. Programming of supported ARM core-based 32-bit devices is unlimited and debugging is limited to:

  • Debug 64 KB application code if microcontroller Flash is larger than 64KB
  • Debug equal to 1/2 Flash size if microcontroller Flash is 64 KB or less
